Why am I not surprised…
July 28th, 2006 by kwentongbayan
Hinihintay ko na lang si Serena Dalrymple. Dati ang pinepredict ko ay si Aiza Seguerra, but we all know that’s way too far from happening. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Sarah Geronimo will follow, as she jokingly said during an interview sa TV Patrol dahil 18 na sya. Jokes are half meant after all. Sex sells, inevitable. Gusto kong kumain ng fishball. Hanlabo.

Wash and Learn sa Cinemalaya
July 5th, 2006 by kwentongbayan
But thanks to my filmmaker friends (naks!), heto’t hindi lang programang pantelebisyon ang aking ipaplug. Sumisine na din daw. Thanks to digital cinema.
I mean, exciting kung paano ako naging bahagi. (Hanlabo.)

There will also be an exhibition of last year’s Cinemalaya finalists, kasama ang pelikulang "PANAGINIPAN" also by Sunshine Matutina.
THE SIX CINEMALAYA SHORTS (2005)
– which includes PANAGINIPAN by Sunshine
Matutina Tues, July 18 – 6:15pm (Silangan Hall)
Thurs, July 20 – 9:00pm (Dream Theatre)
You may contact me if you want to buy tickets, at kayo’y ikokonekta ko sa mga kinauukulan.
Festival Passes are available for P750 only which entitles you to watch all the films, kahit anong oras
niyo gusto at kahit ilang beses.
There’s also the Day Pass which is only P200 and it entitles you to watch any film the whole day, meaning, you can watch up to 5 films (or more kung kasama shorts) because there are 5 screenings a day.
Regular ticket prices are at P100.
SULIT NA SULIT, ika nga ni Allan K.
Manood kayo please! WE NEED YOUR FULL SUPPORT! Lalo na for the short films. Haha! Joke.) Suportahan natin ang buong festival.
Kitakits!
P.S.
The festival will open on July 17 with Jeffrey Jeturian’s film, KUBRADOR at 6:00pm. This is open to the public and there will be cocktails… daw.
Ampanget.
Salamat po,
NORMAN

Not so Smart
July 4th, 2006 by kwentongbayan
Sobrang nanggigigil lang talaga ako sa Smart. I have been a Smart subscriber since I first got my phone nearly six years ago. At wala pa naman akong major reklamo sa kanila, except for their not very friendly customer "care" people whom you call when you have queries, etc.
When I called him up, wala daw silang natanggap na anything. And it was a three-part message which I sent twice para nga makasiguro! Leche talaga.
Hindi lang mga Smart people ang nagrereklamo. Pati mga Globe people may problema din. Common stories na ang "sending failed" kuno, pero the recipient receives the message twice, or thrice, or until the sender stops sending and finally gets "message sent". At napansin ko nga, most of the Globe people double sends their messages. Gudlak sa mga load natin.
At just yesterday, I received this text from a valid cellphone number. 09104212398. Heto ang message:
"Uy, me Mega discover ako! Sobrang ok!"
Heto pa isa. From the same number:
"Hi mga Friendships! May nadiskubre akong libreng service…as in, librent dowloads at tips! Walang bawas sa load ‘to kaya yos!
Things you really do not want to receive and couldn’t care a damn about. May "friendships" pang nalalaman.
So na-on yung alerts from them. For a time, sige, okay lang. Tas naging nakakairita na sya, kase maya’t maya eh may alert. So I turned it off. MYX HOTTONES yata yung alert na iyon. And it was turned off. A few weeks after though, MYX started sending SMS alerts again about their downloads for the week. Eh hindi naman ako na nagsubscribe. And I thought I already turned it off. Well, binago nila ang pangalan. Imbes na HOTTONES, ginawang HOTHITS. Ganda di ba?
Since lagi lang akong nagpapa-e-load, I get these "freebies" kuno whenever magpa-eload ako.
Even calls can sometimes be problematic. Nadadivert minsan sa ibang tao. Lalake yung tinatawagan mo, tas babae yung sasagot at sasabihin na hindi nya kilala yung hinahanap mo. Hay.
It’s just sobrang irritating. Binabawasan ka ng load when you send messages, pero walang assurance if it gets received naman. Kahit pa Smart to Smart pa ang texting. Nakakabwiset. Bakit kapag promotionals eh kagaling nilang magsesend ng messages. Walang paltos. Why can’t they translate the same accuracy ang efficiency sa kanilang services, be it calls or text deliveries? It makes me think na these mobile communication companies, not just Smart, are spending way too much on advertising (pansinin nyo lang, napakadami nilang ads), pero not enough to assure that their subscribers get their money’s worth. Nakakapikon. Mahalaga ang piso no!
Matagal lang kase ang litigation sa Pilipinas. Pero happy siguro if I push a case to court, tas manalo ako, and Smart has to pay me like lifetime na libreng load…o kaya libreng 3G Phone. Ahahah! (Parang si Mutch, na binigyan ng sangkaterbang GCs ng Tapa King after she complained about their delivery service). I just want my money’s worth.
Sabi nila, businessmen should be grateful to customers who complain, because it means that the customer is giving them a chance to explain and improve their service; otherwise, the customer can just quit affording the services of this company and go around bad mouthing it (or backfighting, ika nga ng mga kajologsan dyan).
Hindi naman ako nambabackfight. Sharing in the city lang.
