You are as good as your last show.
(Literally and figuratively)
The world is one big thankless industry.
We have to live with it.
Ever thought feathers are weightless?
Wrong. Too many feathers, if in one’s cap, can gravitate him to fall from grace.

Gilda Olvidado pa ito, na ayon sa ate ako, remains to be the best tagalog pocketbook writer.
Baka she just opted for simpler reading.

Sunday and got nothing to do. Ever since I moved in to my apartment more than six months ago, I haven’t really unpacked my stuff. Most of them conveniently became a rack for my books and dvds. The sturdiest one became an improvised TV stand. Iba talaga ang Pinoy. Haha.

Most of the boxes contain not my own stuff. Karamihan mga gamit ng ate ko. Tired of what became an eye sore out of the marlboro and hope boxes, I finally decided to "unpack" and well, get rid of those stuff that I wouldn’t be needing (or at least to my opinion, my sister won’t be needing).
The next step will be to drop ‘em off at the nearest relief center, which to me is the ABS Foundation along Examiner St.
I realized that me and my sister, (na feeling ko natutunan namin sa bahay ‘to) we tend to keep even the most insignificant stuff, like old notes, receipts, calendar, tickets, lumang readings, posters at kung anu-ano pa. Either we thought those things would still be useful in the future, or they meant something special when we decided to keep them.
But as I look at them, I totally can not remember why I kept them. (Yung mga gamit ko lang naman.)
As for my sister’s stuff, I just convinced myself that losing them won’t do her any harm.

Palista po muna

Finally, finally, finally.
Nagawa ko na ang listahan ng aking mga plano for the year. Salamat sa aking Iztarbooks flanner, nainspire akong maglista one morning. Naisip ko na din na nangalahati na ang buwan, so at least I should be able to accomplish the first task of writing ‘em down.
And here are the nominees.
1. Renew Passport - Done! It should be with me now. But I forgot to leave an authorization to our lobby guard to receive it from the 2GO courier service. Tanga.
3. Prepare Reimbursibles - tuwing magpapaluwal ako sa mga expenses at work (meals, purchase of tapes, pang-gas ng service), I keep the receipts hoping that I’d be able to get my money back. Naipon sya lahat sa wallet ko, so when I changed wallets naisip ko na, it’s payback time.
I always end up eating silog or grilled stuff (grilled tsinelas ganyan). Dapat may diet plan siguro ako, para maexcite din ako on what to eat. And not just eat whatever is conveniently served at pasok sa budget.
5. Never forget medicine - I’m high blood. Did I just say that? Nakakahiya mang aminin, I’m taking maintenance drugs already. Neobloc, reductil. Ganyan. And I always forget to take them. Not good.
6. Update excel phonebook - dahil sa virus, nagcrash ang phonebook ko and lost all contact info of friends, workmates, clients hetcetera.
7. Have cellphone debugged - kase nga may virus. Lagi ko na lang dinedelay ang repair nya (parang si Che with her laptop).
8. Commit to montly gym (at least thrice a week) - Sinubukan ko na yung gym near my office. Okay naman sya. I can pay per visit. But I guess I’ll be more "obliged" to go if I’ve monthly membership.
9. Apply for Pag-ibig - Pag-ibig fund, not pag-ibig as in lovelife.
10. Get Philhealth - got sick last year and terribly felt the disadvantage of not having any health plan or health card. Time to get one.
11. Find cheaper place =( - with a sad face. I love my studio type bachelor’s pad (naks) that I have now. But it’s quite expensive, considering pa na I seldom go home. So sayang naman…
12. Save for Educ units (Summer ‘07) - Yes. I plan to study. Educ. Runs in my blood.
13. Check out Korean jobs - I’d like to migrate to Korea. Sa north. Haha. I think my ancestors are Koreans. I think I have haseyo genes. May housemate akong Koreana dati, si Jackie, na sabi mukha daw akong Koreanong maitim.
14. Get serious on diet - as in Diether Ocampo. Haha. Jokehaseyo.
15. Quit yosi!!! Cold Turkey!!! - ANG HIIIIIIIIIIIRAP!!!
16. Pray. Go to church regularly. - Biggest thing that has been missing in my life. I ought to reconnect.
17. Clear insurance down payment with Tita Ronnie - nagbigay na ko ng first payment ko for that Adam Life Plan from Manulife, c/o Richelle’s mom, Tita Ronnie. Eh dahil sa ako’y isang daking procrastinator (or bukastinator sabi ko nga), nagdrag on for magti-three years na yung policy without moving, just because I failed to give my medical certificate (that should say I am a healthy individual).
18. Clean ze house - OC ako sa kalinisan sa kapaligiran, except for my own place. Bukastinator nga eh.
19. Energy!!! - More energy, mas happy daw eh.
20. Create new private friendster - Done!
Now ang pinakamahirap na part: to actually accomplish everything. At least within my timetable of January 2007.
And the Golden Globe goes to…

New Year Plans
January 11th, 2007 by kwentongbayan
I don’t have any resolutions for 2007. Ang meron ako, plans. Madami.
Mas effective kasi sa akin if I see in writing everything that I have to do, so I won’t miss out on anything, and I can categorize and prioritize things. Para may konkretong plan of action, at hindi na lang basta go with the flow, as I have been living the past four years of my professional life.
But even that first plan of actually writing things down, eh hindi ko masimulan.
So ibig sabihin, hindi din dahil sa hindi pa din ako revved up until now, eh this will drag on for the rest of the year for me.
Rely on the power of positive thinking.

Huwag magpaisa. Huwag magpalinlang. Huwag magpaloko.
